Why is a member of Congress having to rescue American citizens?



The US government is supposed to be there for Americans, especially when there are problems that happen in foreign nations. This has not been the case with the Biden Administration, which means that US Representative Cory Mills (FL-7) has had to step up to help citizens three times. The last instance occurred when a fellow Representative came to him to get help for workers in an orphanage from their district. It would seem that the government under Biden is so bad for citizens that a member of Congress has to do the work of the Executive Branch.

What Occurred


Here, via a Mills press release, is what he was asked to do.


On the morning of Tuesday, March 12, 2024, Representative Mills (Fl-07) successfully evacuated 10 Americans and at-risk volunteers from the “Have Faith Orphanage.”


“As a father, Member of Congress, and former Army Combat Veteran, I could not stand by when Representative McClain (MI-9) told me about the crisis unfolding in Haiti and how innocent American citizens were left to fend for themselves with no support,” said Representative Mills (Fl-07). “I am proud to share that my team and I have successfully evacuated a group of endangered Americans from 'Have Faith Orphanage' in Haiti. This mission reiterates a disturbing reality that under President Biden's leadership, American lives are continually jeopardized. I have led missions to rescue Americans multiple times when Joe Biden has deserted them. The first instance was in Afghanistan in 2021, followed by Israel in 2023, and now again in Haiti. There's a clear pattern of abandonment. We need leadership in the White House that prioritizes American lives. We cannot afford to wait.”


“The State Department and the Biden administration completely failed to protect Americans, once again. Those stranded in war-torn Haiti were left hopeless and without options. The State Department’s answer was to sign up for a notification system and wait for alerts. They offered no real assistance, no opportunities to be rescued, and no plan whatsoever. That’s why Rep. Mills and I had to take the matter into our own hands and save stranded American citizens. We worked around the clock to do the work the Biden administration was unwilling to do, and I am eternally grateful for the heroic actions my friend Cory Mills took in traveling to Haiti and physically rescuing Michiganders that were left behind. I am pleased that we were able to save so many, but countless more remain. I am infuriated that the State Department has so carelessly left Americans to die in Haiti,” Representative McClain (MI-9) stated.


Representative Mills (Fl-07) stepped in when stranded Americans found no help after contacting the United States Embassy and State Department. For the Third time, Representative Mills (Fl-07) has stepped in to rescue stranded Americans in Afghanistan, Israel, and Haiti.


Few instances have happened during the Biden Administration run that they could not help citizens. They were willing to help the WNBA player who committed a crime in a foreign nation, but they aren't willing to help Americans who are trapped while doing good? There comes a point that even liberals need to realize that this Administration is good for no one.
